We are Embe Eatery and Lounge, and we have been a locally owned and operated restaurant and bar in Galena, IL since 2011. We offer homemade deli style food, gourmet soups, sandwiches, and salads. Our kitchen specializes in from-scratch cooking using quality ingredients to bring you our family’s delicious recipes. My wife and I are staying at a B&B in town and all the recommendations were for the big name joints. My wife and I stopped into Embe on Main Street on a whim because we HADN'T heard about them. Good vibe and a relaxed atmosphere. Wife had the 1/2 ham & turkey sandwich and chips, I had the Refrigerator sandwich with slaw. LOTs of meat on the Sammys and the slaw was super fresh and light with minimal dressing. I also had a pint of their Embe Lager. Sooo refreshing on a warm mid-day. Of note, my wife has a severe sensitivity to garlic and we always have to ask if there is any used in the base product or in the preparation of her food. The two fellows at the front of the house were diligent, attentive and were always on the go. The one who took our order double checked with the kitchen on the garlic situation without as much as a blink. Definitely a great choice for lunch! Thanks Embe!!
